Dear God,

Thanks for this day. I am so grateful for how you are providing for my needs. I admit that I don't have what it takes to be my best today. I need the help that comes from you. You give me the strength, the wisdom, the zeal, the passion, and so on - that enables me to do my job well. Thanks for this new assignment, God. You are truly an incredible God. I want to know you more. I care about our relationship, and I want to be closer to you. I realize that the distance between us depends on me; you are as close as you can get to me, and I am responsible for drawing nearer to you. Help me to see the futility of not living a cross-centered life. To lose my life for you and for the gospel means that I gain life in return.

I love you, O Lord, my strength.
