Dear Heavenly Father,

Lord, I long for closeness with you right now. I am acutely aware of my need for you. During times of sickness or other physical weakness, I see that I am only a mortal being.

God, your word gives me life. Please encourage me with it today. Let it truly be a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. I want to change, to be different, to obey you.

I realize that there is nothing I can do to earn your love; you've given it unconditionally to me. Inspire me to love you more deeply.
